About this tool

JPG holds one still picture, so an animated GIF needs a decision. By default you get the first frame. Turn on Save every frame to pull the whole animation apart, which is useful for choosing a thumbnail or checking a single moment.

Common questions

How do I get all the frames?

Turn on Save every frame of an animation. You'll get a ZIP with numbered JPG files, in order.

Will the colors look the same?

A GIF holds at most 256 colors, and the JPG shows exactly those. It can't restore colors that the GIF lost.

Is it free to use?

Yes. There's no sign-up, and nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.

What happens to my files?

Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
