About this tool

Employers and job portals often ask for a PDF because it looks the same on every screen. Add your Word document or plain text resume and get a PDF with real, selectable text. If you made your resume in our builder, you can turn that into a PDF here too.

Common questions

Will my formatting change?

Word files keep their layout, because a full office suite does the conversion. Plain text has no layout of its own, so it's set in a clean design with headings found from your text.

Can tracking software read the PDF?

The text stays real and selectable. A Word resume built with tables or text boxes can still read out of order, though. If that worries you, rebuild it in the Resume Builder.

Is it free to use?

Yes. You can use it without an account a few times a day, and a free account raises the daily limit. Nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.

What happens to my files?

Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
