About this tool

Cut the start and end off a video without sending it through a slow re-encode. Fast mode copies the part you keep in seconds, so the quality doesn't change. When a cut must land on one exact frame, Exact mode does that instead, and takes longer. You choose which matters more.

Common questions

What's the difference between Fast and Exact?

Fast copies the video in seconds with no quality loss, but it can only begin on a keyframe, so your clip may start a little before the moment you chose. Exact re-encodes, so it starts on the frame you picked but takes longer.

Why does my clip start earlier than I set?

That's Fast mode landing on the nearest keyframe before your start. The timeline shows where that is before you run it, and the result says where it began. Switch to Exact to start on your chosen frame.

Will my phone video stay the right way up?

Yes. Portrait videos and videos with a rotation setting stay the right way up in both modes.

Is it free to use?

Yes. You can use it without an account a few times a day, and a free account raises the daily limit. Nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.

What happens to my files?

Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
