How to compress many images at once
- Add all your images together.
- Choose a level, and a format if you want to change it.
- Select Bulk Image Compressor and download the ZIP.
Examples
40 phone photos, each 4032 × 3024 pixels: add them together, choose Balanced, and download one ZIP. Each file keeps its name with -compressed added, such as beach-compressed.jpg.
12 PNG screenshots and 8 JPG photos: set Save as to WebP, and all 20 come back as WebP files, each at its original pixel size.
A batch of 25 where 3 files were already tightly compressed: those 3 come back unchanged, and the note says 3 of 25 files couldn't be made smaller.
About this tool
Shrinking a folder of photos one at a time takes far too long. Add them all together, pick one level, and each file is compressed on its own. A table lists every file's size before and after, and any file that can't get smaller comes back exactly as it was.
Common questions
How many images can I compress at once?
Up to 100 in one batch. For more, run a second batch.
Can I change the format at the same time?
Yes. Choose WebP or AVIF under Save as and the whole batch is converted as it's compressed, which often saves the most space. Same format keeps each file's own type.
What happens to files that are already small?
If a file can't be made smaller, you get the original back and the table says so. No file ever comes back larger than it went in.
Are the date, camera and location details removed?
Yes, from every file that gets smaller, unless you turn on Keep date, camera and location details. A file that can't be made smaller comes back as it was, details included.
Is it free to use?
Yes. You can use it without an account a few times a day, and a free account raises the daily limit. Nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.
What happens to my files?
Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
