Are location details kept?
Yes, by default, as with the date and camera. Turn off Keep date, camera and location details before you share photos with strangers.
Can I stop my iPhone making HEIC files?
Yes. In Settings, open Camera, then Formats, and choose Most Compatible. New photos are then saved as JPG, and they take more space.
