About this tool
Change an image's format without changing how it looks. Use WebP or AVIF for smaller web images, PNG when you need sharp edges and transparency, and JPG for photos that have to open everywhere. You can convert many images in one go.
Common questions
Which format makes the smallest file?
AVIF is usually smallest, then WebP, then JPG. PNG files are larger, but they keep every pixel exactly.
What happens to transparent areas?
JPG and BMP can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background color you choose.
Are my photo's date and camera details kept?
Yes, by default, along with any location. Turn off Keep date, camera and location details before you share a photo publicly.
Is it free to use?
Yes. There's no sign-up, and nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.
What happens to my files?
Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
