How to add a header and footer to a PDF

Put a company name, document title, date or Page 3 of 12 on your pages. Type into any of six positions and watch them appear on your real page. Skip the cover, use odd or even pages only, or swap sides for double-sided printing. Sideways and cropped pages are handled correctly.
Common questions
How do I add page numbers and dates?
Type {page} for the page number, {total} for the page count, {date} for today, {time} for the time, and {file} for the file name. For example, Page {page} of {total}.
Can I write in Hindi?
Yes. Hindi is drawn correctly in an installed font. Copying that header back out of the PDF may not give the exact letters, so keep the original text if you need it again.
How do I leave the cover unnumbered?
Turn on Skip the first page. To make the next page show 1, set Number of the first page to 0.
Is it free to use?
Yes. You can use it without an account a few times a day, and a free account raises the daily limit. Nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.
What happens to my files?
Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
