A PNG screenshot or photo can be many times larger than it needs to be. Converting it to JPG cuts the size for sharing, and many upload forms only take JPG anyway. Transparent areas are filled with white unless you choose another color.
Common questions
Why did the transparent part turn white?
JPG can't store transparency, so those areas need a solid color. Choose any color under Background for transparent areas.
Which quality should I use?
90 looks the same as the original for most images. Lower it if you need a smaller file. Screenshots with small text look cleanest at 90 or above.
Is it free to use?
