About this tool

A PNG logo goes blurry when it's enlarged. Tracing turns its shapes into real vector paths that stay sharp on a poster or a van. It works on logos, icons and drawings with clear edges. You'll be warned if your image looks like a photo.

Common questions

Can I convert a photo to SVG?

Not usefully. Tracing suits flat shapes, so a photo comes out as a very large file that looks painted. You'll see a warning if your image seems to be a photo.

Which preset should I use?

Use Logo for a few flat colors, Illustration for many colors or soft shading, and Black and white for signatures, stamps and line drawings.

Why doesn't the result match exactly?

Tracing draws new outlines around the shapes it sees, so tiny details and soft edges can change. A larger, cleaner source image gives a closer result.

Is it free to use?

Yes. You can use it without an account a few times a day, and a free account raises the daily limit. Nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.

What happens to my files?

Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
