About this tool

Paste your class list and get a printable sheet with a QR code for each student, sized so a phone can read it, plus a blank monthly grid for marking by hand. Students keep their code, you scan it in class, and the scans give you a list of who came.

Common questions

How do I take attendance with the QR codes?

Give each student their code on a card or in a notebook. In class, open our QR Code Scanner or any scanner app on a phone and scan each code. Each one shows the student's roll number and name, which you can tick off or keep as a list.

Does this keep attendance records for me?

No. It makes the printable sheets. It doesn't store scans, so keep your own record, on the printed grid or in a spreadsheet.

Can a student scan for a friend?

A printed code can be copied, so this isn't proof that someone was there. Having the teacher do the scanning keeps it honest.

Is it free to use?

Yes. There's no sign-up for everyday use, and a free account raises the daily limit if you need more.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It works in your browser on a computer or a phone.

Is what I enter kept?

It's only used to get your result. Some public answers, such as the branches for a pincode, are kept for a while so the next lookup is quicker, but nothing links them to you.
