About this tool

Read a code without installing an app. Use your camera, choose a picture, drop one in, or paste a screenshot. The result appears as plain text, and links are never opened automatically. If a link looks suspicious, for example it uses look-alike letters or hides behind a short link, you are told before you decide to open it.

Common questions

Is my camera feed uploaded?

No. Frames are read in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

Why does it not open links for me?

Codes can hide harmful links. Showing the address first gives you the chance to check it. The Open button only works when you press it.

What if my picture is not read?

Use a sharper, closer photo with the full code in view and no glare. Cropping to the code often helps.

Is it free to use?

Yes. There's no sign-up, and you can use it as often as you like.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. This tool runs inside your browser, so what you enter stays on your device.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It works in your browser on a computer or a phone.
