How to generate schema markup

  1. Choose the type of markup that fits your page.
  2. Fill in the fields, starting with those marked Required.
  3. Copy the script tag and paste it into your page's HTML.

Examples

A bakery in Pune. Choose LocalBusiness, pick Bakery, and fill in the name, street, city, postal code and IN. Opening hours of Monday-Saturday 09:00-21:00 become one opening hours entry with six days, opening at 09:00 and closing at 21:00.

A product price. Typing ₹1,299 in Price gives a hint to write it as 1299 or 1299.00, with INR in Currency. Choosing In stock writes https://schema.org/InStock in the output.

A breadcrumb trail of Home, Women and Kurtas. The first two items need full page addresses. The last may be left without one, because Google then uses the address of the page itself.

An event without a time zone. A start of 2026-12-06T18:30 gets a hint to add +05:30, so Google doesn't have to guess the time zone.

About this tool

Fill in a form and get JSON-LD structured data to paste into your page. Choose from nine schema.org types, and each field is marked as required or recommended according to Google's current guides. Hints point out problems such as a price with a currency sign, a date without a time zone or a breadcrumb item with no address. It all runs in your browser.

Common questions

Will this get my page a rich result?

Not on its own. Valid markup makes a page eligible, but Google decides what to show, and the markup must match what visitors can see on the page.

Does Google still show FAQ and How-to results?

No. Google stopped showing How-to rich results in September 2023 and FAQ rich results on 7 May 2026. The markup is still valid schema.org, so you can keep it, but it won't change your Google listing.

Where do I put the code?

Anywhere in the page's HTML, in the head or the body. Google reads a JSON-LD script tag in either place.

How do I check it?

Publish the page, then test its address with Google's Rich Results Test. The Schema Markup Validator at validator.schema.org checks any schema.org type.

Why does it ask for a time zone in dates?

Without a time zone such as +05:30, Google has to assume one, which can move an event or a publish time by several hours.

Is it free to use?

Yes. There's no sign-up, and you can use it as often as you like.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. This tool runs inside your browser, so what you enter stays on your device.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It works in your browser on a computer or a phone.
