A 4000 × 3000 photo on an exact 1080 × 1350 canvas with no space around it is scaled to 1080 × 810, with 270 pixels of blur or color above and below.
About this tool
A border gives a photo room to breathe on a post, a print or a product page. Add an even border in pixels or as a share of the image, or place the picture on a canvas of a set shape with space around it. The canvas can be a plain color, a soft blur of the photo, or transparent.
Common questions
How is a canvas different from a border?
A border adds the same width on every side, so the shape changes only a little. A canvas sets the final shape, such as square, and the space around the image grows to fill it.
Is my photo made smaller?
Not with a border or a canvas shape. The photo keeps its own pixels and the canvas grows around it. With an exact canvas size in pixels, the photo is scaled to fit inside it.
Can the background be transparent?
Yes. Choose Transparent and save as PNG or WebP. JPG can't store transparency, so a JPG is filled with white instead.
How do I make a photo square without cropping it?
Choose A canvas of a set shape, then Square, 1:1, with a blur or a color behind. The whole photo stays in view in the middle.
Is it free to use?
Yes. There's no sign-up, and nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.
What happens to my files?
Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.
Do I need to install anything?
