Common questions
How do I type ळ?
Type a capital L: sakaaL gives सकाळ and paaLaNaa gives पाळणा. At the start of a word L is read as ल, because ळ doesn't begin Marathi words.
How do I type ॲ and ऑ for English words?
Use capital E and O: kEmeraa gives कॅमेरा, and Ofis inside a sentence gives ऑफ़िस. A capital followed by a small letter at the start of a sentence is read as small, so turn that setting off to begin a sentence with ॲ or ऑ.
Why is casual spelling off for Marathi?
With it on, a final a becomes ा, which suits Hindi words like mera. In Marathi it would turn mahaaraaShTra into महाराष्ट्रा, so it starts off. Turn it on if you'd rather type maajha for माझा.
How do I type the half र in तर्हा?
Type ^ after the र: tar^haa gives तर्हा, with the half र that Marathi writes before ह and य.
