About this tool

Get editable Marathi text from a scanned page, a photo of a document or a PDF. Government resolutions, magazine pages and old books all work, and two-column layouts are read one column at a time. Many Marathi PDFs store broken text behind a page that looks correct, so each page is read from its image. Check the result before you use it, as joined letters can go wrong.

Common questions

Why copy from here when my PDF already has text?

Text copied from many Marathi PDFs comes out broken, with words like याांच्या appearing where the page shows यांच्या. Reading the page image avoids that.

Does it work on old or faded pages?

Often, yes. Shadows and paper color are evened out first, and tilted pages are straightened. Very faded print or a low-resolution photo will still cause mistakes.

Is it free to use?

Yes. There's no sign-up, and nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.

What happens to my files?

Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
