About this tool

A print shop or form asks for 300 DPI and your file says 72. Often that number just needs changing. Only the DPI value in the file's header is updated, so the picture isn't re-saved. You see the print size it gives at the new DPI.

Common questions

Does a higher DPI make my image sharper?

No. DPI only decides how large the image prints. The same pixels at 300 DPI print smaller and denser than at 72 DPI. To print large and sharp, you need more pixels.

Why can't I use WebP, GIF or HEIC?

Those formats have no place for a DPI value. Convert to JPG or PNG first.

Can I print a passport photo at the right size this way?

If the pixels are right, yes. For example, 413 × 531 pixels at 300 DPI prints at 35 × 45 mm.

Is it free to use?

Yes. You can use it without an account a few times a day, and a free account raises the daily limit. Nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.

What happens to my files?

Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
