About this tool
Request placeholder text from code with a single GET call. Ask for 1 to 50 paragraphs as JSON or plain text, and use a seed to get the same text every time in tests. This page has a live example, ready-to-copy curl commands and a form to try it. Call it from a terminal, a script or your own server.
Common questions
Can I call it from my own website?
From your website's server, yes. A script running in a visitor's browser on another site can't call it, because the server refuses requests that come from other websites' pages. Fetch the text on your server and send it on.
Do I need a key?
No. There is no key and no sign-up.
How do I get the same text each time?
Add a seed, for example seed=7. The same seed always returns the same paragraphs.
Is it free to use?
Yes. There's no sign-up, and you can use it as often as you like.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It works in your browser on a computer or a phone.
Is what I enter kept?
It's only used to get your result. Some public answers, such as the branches for a pincode, are kept for a while so the next lookup is quicker, but nothing links them to you.
