About this tool
Generate a QR code from code or from an image tag. One GET request to /api/public/qr returns a PNG or an SVG. You choose the size, the error correction level, the margin and the colors. This page has a live example, ready-to-copy samples and a try-it form. There is no key and no sign-up.
Common questions
Can I put the address in an img tag?
Yes. Put the full address, with your text in data, as the image's src on any page, and the browser draws the code. Each request makes the image again, so save it as a file if a page shows it to many visitors.
What limits apply?
Up to 1000 characters of data, and PNG sizes from 50 to 1000 pixels. SVG scales to any size.
Which error correction level should I choose?
M suits most uses. Choose H if the code may be printed small or partly covered, for example with a logo.
Is it free to use?
Yes. There's no sign-up for everyday use, and a free account raises the daily limit if you need more.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It works in your browser on a computer or a phone.
Is what I enter kept?
It's only used to get your result. Some public answers, such as the branches for a pincode, are kept for a while so the next lookup is quicker, but nothing links them to you.
