About this tool

Paste text in lower case and get it back in capital letters, ready for a heading, a form that asks for block capitals or a label. Accented letters are converted correctly, so é becomes É. The German ß becomes SS, as it does in capital writing.

Common questions

Why does ß turn into SS?

In German capital writing, ß is written as SS. That is the standard conversion, and it can make the text one letter longer.

Does it change numbers or symbols?

No. Only letters that have a capital form change. Numbers, punctuation, Hindi letters and emoji stay as they are.

Can I capitalise only the first letter of each word?

Yes. Choose Title Case in the list, or Sentence case to capitalise just the start of each sentence.

Is it free to use?

Yes. There's no sign-up, and you can use it as often as you like.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. This tool runs inside your browser, so what you enter stays on your device.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It works in your browser on a computer or a phone.
