About this tool

Typed a whole paragraph with caps lock on? Paste it here and every letter becomes lower case straight away. Accented letters such as É and Ü are converted too. If you want sentences to start with a capital letter afterwards, switch the setting to sentence case.

Common questions

Can I get capital letters at the start of sentences?

Yes. Change the setting to Sentence case and each sentence starts with a capital letter while the rest stays lower case.

Can I undo it?

Your original text stays in the left box, so just edit it or paste it again. Nothing is changed until you copy the result.

Are names and acronyms kept?

No. Lower case changes every letter, so NASA becomes nasa. Use Title case with the keep capitals option to protect words like that.

Is it free to use?

Yes. There's no sign-up, and you can use it as often as you like.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. This tool runs inside your browser, so what you enter stays on your device.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It works in your browser on a computer or a phone.
