About this tool
Title case capitalises the main words of a headline and leaves small words alone. This converter keeps words like a, an, and, of, the, to and in in lower case in the middle of a title, but always capitalises the first word, the last word and the word after a colon. Hyphenated words get a capital on each part.
Common questions
Which style guide does it follow?
It follows the common rule shared by the major guides: capitalise the first and last word and the important words, and keep short articles, conjunctions and prepositions in lower case. Guides differ on longer prepositions, so check yours for rare cases.
How do I keep acronyms like NASA?
Tick Keep words already in capitals. Words written in all capitals are left as they are when the rest of the line is in mixed case.
Can I convert many titles at once?
Yes. Put one title on each line. Every line is treated as its own title.
Is it free to use?
Yes. There's no sign-up, and you can use it as often as you like.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. This tool runs inside your browser, so what you enter stays on your device.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It works in your browser on a computer or a phone.
