About this tool

Check what a PDF says about itself before you share it. See who made it and with what software, when it was last changed, which fonts are embedded, and the size of each page. If the info dictionary and XMP disagree, or a font isn't embedded, you'll spot it here.

Common questions

Why should I check that fonts are embedded?

A font that isn't embedded can look different on another computer. Printers and PDF/A archives usually require every font to be embedded.

What is XMP?

It's a block of structured details inside the PDF. It sits alongside the older info dictionary and can hold more, such as editing history. You can download the raw XML.

Can I change what I see here?

Yes. PDF Metadata Editor changes or clears the title, author, keywords and dates.

Is it free to use?

Yes. You can use it without an account a few times a day, and a free account raises the daily limit. Nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.

What happens to my files?

Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
