About this tool

Before you post a photo of your home or send it to a stranger, take out the location and camera details. Only the hidden data is cut away, so the picture in a JPG stays byte for byte the same. Sideways photos stay the right way up.

Common questions

Does this lower the quality?

Not for JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or TIFF. The picture data isn't touched. HEIC and AVIF have to be saved again, at high quality, and the result says so.

Will my sideways photo flip?

No. Phones often store photos sideways with a note to turn them. That one note is kept, and nothing else, so the photo stays upright.

Does it remove everything hidden?

It removes EXIF, XMP, IPTC, comments and text notes, plus anything added after the picture, such as a motion photo's video. The color profile stays, because colors would change without it. Every result is checked for leftover location data.

Is it free to use?

Yes. You can use it without an account a few times a day, and a free account raises the daily limit. Nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.

What happens to my files?

Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
