How to make a UPI QR code
- Enter your UPI ID and the payee name.
- Add an amount and a note if you want them.
- Check the scan result, then download the PNG and print or share it.
Examples
A shop with the UPI ID yourshop@okaxis and no amount: the code holds upi://pay?pa=yourshop@okaxis&pn=Asha%20Stores&cu=INR, and each customer types what they owe.
A tuition class asking for ₹1,500 with the note May fees: the link adds am=1500.00 and tn=May%20fees, so the payer's app opens with ₹1,500 already filled in.
A one-off bill of ₹249.50 for Order 42: type 249.50 and the code asks for exactly ₹249.50. Amounts take up to two decimal places, and anything over ₹1 lakh gets a warning, because many banks limit a single payment between people to that.
About this tool
Type the UPI ID that should receive the money and the name to print, and you get a card with a payment QR code that UPI apps can scan. Add an amount for a single bill, or leave it empty so the payer types it. The link follows NPCI's upi://pay format, and the finished card is read back in your browser before you download it.
Common questions
Which apps can scan it?
Any UPI app. The code holds a standard upi://pay link with your UPI ID, name and, if you set one, the amount, which NPCI's specification requires UPI apps to read.
What name does the payer see?
Before paying, their UPI app shows the name of the person or business that the UPI ID belongs to. The name on the card is only printed text, so ask payers to check the name in their app.
Should I set an amount?
Set one for a single bill, such as a fee or an invoice. Apps then don't let the payer change it. Leave it empty for a shop counter or donations, and the payer types the amount.
Is this the same as a business QR from my bank?
No. This code carries a personal payment link with your UPI ID. Business QR codes from a bank or payment app can also carry a merchant code and a reference number that this one doesn't.
Is it free to use?

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

Do I need to install anything?
No. It works in your browser on a computer or a phone.
