About this tool
Find how many working days fall between two dates, such as for a notice period, a project deadline or a bank's processing time, or find the date a number of working days away. Pick the weekend: Sunday only, Saturday and Sunday, or Sundays plus the second and fourth Saturdays, which is what banks in India follow. Then add holidays, and see every day accounted for.
Common questions
Which Saturdays are bank holidays in India?
The second and fourth Saturday of every month. The other Saturdays are full working days. This has applied since 1 September 2015, under a Government of India notification that the Reserve Bank of India announced on 28 August 2015.
Which holidays does Add India's national holidays put in?
The three national holidays: Republic Day on 26 January, Independence Day on 15 August and Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October. Others, such as Diwali, Holi or Eid, move each year and differ by state and employer, so add them from your own holiday list.
Are the start and end dates counted?
Both are counted to begin with, as NETWORKDAYS does in Excel. Untick Count the start date to count from the next day. When adding working days, the start date isn't counted, as with WORKDAY.
What if a holiday falls on a Sunday?
It's counted once, as a weekend day, and listed separately so you can see it wasn't taken off twice.
