About this tool
Raising the volume too far makes sound crackle, because the loudest moments hit the ceiling and get chopped off. This booster uses a limiter that holds those moments down, so quieter parts rise and nothing clips. It reports the peak level before and after, so you can see exactly what changed.
Common questions
How many dB should I add?
6 dB sounds clearly louder. 10 dB sounds about twice as loud. Beyond that, the limiter works hard and the sound can feel flat.
What's the difference between a boost and loudness matching?
A boost raises the volume by the amount you set. Loudness matching measures the whole file and sets it to a standard level, so several recordings end up sounding equally loud.
Which loudness should I pick?
-14 LUFS is common for online video and music, and -16 LUFS for podcasts. -23 LUFS is used in broadcast.
Is it free to use?
Yes. You can use it without an account a few times a day, and a free account raises the daily limit. Nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.
What happens to my files?
Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
