Common questions
Does trimming reduce the quality?
Not in Fast mode, which copies the sound as it is. Exact mode and fades re-encode it at the same bitrate. WAV and FLAC never lose quality, in either mode.
Can I make a ringtone with this?
Yes. Keep the part you want, add a short fade, and copy the MP3 to your phone. iPhones need the M4R type, which is an M4A file with its name changed.
Is it free to use?
Yes. There's no sign-up, and nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.
What happens to my files?
Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
