How to crop an image into a circle
- Add one or more images.
- Leave the corners clear, or choose a color.
- Select Crop Image to Circle and download the result.
Examples
A 4000 × 3000 photo becomes a 3000 × 3000 PNG, with the circle touching all four sides.
A 600 × 900 portrait gives a circle 600 pixels across from its middle, which cuts 150 pixels from the top and from the bottom.
Twenty 1000 × 1000 team photos: add them together and download one ZIP of round PNGs, each 1000 × 1000.
About this tool
A round photo suits team pages, slides and stickers. The largest square is taken from the middle of your image and cut into a circle, with a smooth edge and clear corners in a PNG. Fill the corners with a color instead if the place you're putting it doesn't show transparency.
Common questions
Which part of the photo is kept?
The largest square from the middle, so a 4000 × 3000 photo gives a circle 3000 pixels across. Crop it first with Image Cropper to center a face.
Why are the corners white or black in some apps?
Some apps and sites don't show transparency and fill it with a color of their own. Choose A color under Corners to pick that color yourself.
Should I use this for a profile picture?
Most platforms crop a square photo to a circle themselves, so upload the square there. Use the round PNG where you place the picture yourself, such as on a slide or a web page.
Is it free to use?
Yes. There's no sign-up, and nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.
What happens to my files?
Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
