About this tool
See what's inside a CSV without opening a spreadsheet program. Sort any column, filter with rules like >100, search every column at once, and get totals, averages and the most common values. The file is read inside your browser, so even private data never leaves your device.
Common questions
How large a file can it open?
Files of 100,000 rows work smoothly, because only the rows on screen are drawn. The limit after that depends on your device's memory.
How do the column filters work?
Type any text to match part of a cell. You can also use >100, <=5, =Pune, !=Pune, or a range such as 10..20. Number and date columns compare by value.
Why do my accented letters look wrong?
The encoding is detected for you, but you can change it under Encoding. Try Windows-1252 for older Excel files.
Is it free to use?
Yes. There's no sign-up, and you can use it as often as you like.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. This tool runs inside your browser, so what you enter stays on your device.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It works in your browser on a computer or a phone.
