About this tool

Sometimes you only want one quote, one song or one answer from a long recording. Play the video, drag the handles around the part you want, and save only that section of the sound. The rest of the video is left out, so a short clip stays a small file.

Common questions

How exact are the start and end times?

Times can be set to a hundredth of a second, and you can step one frame at a time to find the moment. Use Play selection to hear it before you save.

Can I type the times instead of dragging?

Yes. Type them as 1:30, or 1:02:03 for times past an hour. Plain seconds such as 90.5 work too.

Is it free to use?

Yes. You can use it without an account a few times a day, and a free account raises the daily limit. Nothing is added to your file unless you ask for it.

What happens to my files?

Your files are only used to run the tool you chose, and they're deleted automatically after about 24 hours.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It all works in your browser, on any computer or phone.
