About this tool
Enter how far you're going, your vehicle's mileage and the price you pay for fuel. The page works out how much petrol, diesel, CNG or electricity the trip needs, what it costs, the cost per km and each person's share when friends split it. Prices aren't filled in for you, because they change often and differ by city, so type the price at your pump or on your power bill.
Common questions
How is the fuel cost worked out?
Fuel needed = distance / mileage, and cost = fuel needed x price. For an EV rated in Wh/km, energy = distance x Wh/km / 1000, in kWh.
Which mileage should I use?
Your own, measured from one full tank to the next, is closer to real driving than the brochure figure. Switch to Mileage on this page, or use the Mileage Calculator, to find it.
Why doesn't the page show today's petrol price?
Fuel prices change often and differ from city to city, so a built-in price would often be wrong. Type the price you pay.
Does it include tolls?
No. It covers fuel or charging only. Add tolls and parking yourself, or record them in the Trip Expense Calculator.
Is it free to use?
Yes. There's no sign-up, and you can use it as often as you like.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. This tool runs inside your browser, so what you enter stays on your device.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It works in your browser on a computer or a phone.
